Dear colleague,

As a valued partner of Breda University of Applied Sciences, we would like to draw your attention to an upcoming conference that may be of interest to you or your colleagues. Even if this isn’t directly relevant to you, we’d be grateful if you could forward this to colleagues in tourism, hospitality, or related fields who might be interested. To give you a first impression, our colleagues Rob Simons, BUas Lecturer/Researcher and ISTTE Director at Large, and Corné Dijkmans, Manager of Research at Academy for Tourism, have put together a short invitation video that we warmly encourage you to watch.

BUas is proud to host the 45th Annual Conference of the International Society of Travel & Tourism Educators (ISTTE), taking place 21–23 October 2026 on our campus in Breda, the Netherlands.

This year’s theme – Digital, Responsible, Resilient: Innovation in Travel and Tourism Education and Research – sits at the intersection of technology, sustainability, and pedagogy, making it relevant well beyond tourism departments alone.

A global platform for ideas and collaboration

The conference brings together educators, researchers, and practitioners from around the world and offers a fantastic platform to share your work, spark new collaborations, and build lasting international connections.

Have something worth sharing? Submit your work

Are you or any of your colleagues working on something worth sharing? Submissions are welcome in a variety of formats: full papers, working papers, workshops, Pecha Kucha presentations, and teaching case studies. Topics span a broad range – from AI and data-driven innovation to sustainability, cultural sensitivity, faculty development, and experiential learning – so there is likely room for contributions from across your institution. Awards are presented in all categories, so your work could also gain well-deserved recognition.

Please note that the paper submission deadline has been extended to 5 June 2026, so there is still plenty of time to prepare a submission.

We warmly invite you to:

→ Register to attend the conference at istte.org

→ Submit a paper or presentation via the Call for Papers

For questions, please contact Rob Simons at Simons.R@buas.nl or visit istte.org for full details on submission guidelines, formats, and registration.

We hope to welcome you to Breda this October.

Warm regards,

Team Global Engagement
